Retro Living Room

Roman blinds: fabric from Sanderson, 50s collection prints, Park Life.

Retro outfit

Cool and comfy

You would not believe the changes that occurred on this project! A traditionally styled room with worn carpets was transformed into an eclectic mix of subtle retro, with old and new furniture to boot. For an exceptional and diverse room change we replaced the worn carpet with a wooden floor (see wooden flooring), and chose white backdrops to enhance a utilitarian collection of furniture. We chose Vintage from G Plan, a selection of iconic styles from the 50s and 60s. A revamp was performed to the existing fireplace by painting it in a hard wearing matt white paint. Tired, heavy and interlined curtains that had hung at the window for many years were replaced with light and simple Roman blinds in ‘Park Life’ from Sanderson.

Cushion

We chose Harlequin’s Impasto in Amoura for this vintage worn appeal. The fabric is a beautiful printed velvet with brush strokes of striking colour.

Cushion

Fabric again from Harlequin, Momentum 3 & 4 in Etch. Again producing a worn out and vintage chenille. Feels like it has been around for ever. Perfect styling.

Take me back

Enjoy this revived style from G Plan who have been around since 1898 producing quality and iconic designs. Well worth a look.

Lighting

Inspired by the cinema, we were excited to come across these tripod lamps. You can buy them with black, white or light oak legs. A statement piece.
